Bellringer and Assignment 10-30-14

1. How does this support your defense for the debate on Friday?
It doesn't support our defense

2. Do you believe that the court was correct in this instance?
No the guy should have died right then and there for what he did to those poor people.

NICK CASEY AND ALEX MOONEY
I feel as if NIck Casey is doing nothing for West Virginia, he's just lining his own pockets. He is in support of many bills killing West Virginia coal jobs. This is leading to many people that are now without an income and no where to go. Some of these miners that are getting laid off know nothign but mining. How can a miner go do something else when all they know is coal.
Alex Mooney on the other hand is trying to protect West Virginia. He is fighting the war on coal to stop Obama from destroying our great state even more than he already has. Yes he is making money to but at least he is doing honestly and helping make a difference for the common man in West Virginia.
I think out of both canidates I would have to vote for Alex Mooney. He is protecting West Virginians from being jobless and working to keep the coal coming from the ground for generationsn to come. He just seems more like he cares and he isn't just for the money like his competitor Nick Casey, my descision is Alex Mooney for Congress.

50 of the Craziest Laws in the US

This is NUTS!! I don't understand why there would be a reason to make some of these laws. There is so much that I don't understand about the working of our governement and now I think I really don't want to know considering the laws that have been passed. You could just make a simple law that applies to all states saying if it causes a problem then it can fined or resolved in court should the problem escalate. SIMPLE AS THAT!!

1.) Does the fact that all these Snapchat photos are going to be leaked surprise me? Absolutely not, I knew from the getgo that this was to good to be true and that eventually someone would create an app to let people save the snapchats that were "special"
2) NO! There is no way that you will have 100% privacy when sending messages, pictures, anything. And I believe that there is no way that there will ever be 100% privacy for anyone.

9-25-14

1.) The point the President was attempting to make was that these extremeist beleive this is what thier god wants them to do but that is not how the world is viewing them. Obama was attempting to appeal to the religious side of the world, to convince them that the extremists will be brought down to save them from damnation.

2.) On a scale of one to ten I would rate Obamas speech at about a seven, mostly because not everyone is religous and how can you appeal to someone and their god when they dont beleive in one?

I get the feeling that is ISIS is this organized, then they are much smarter than we think they are. Typically a terrorist group plans little other than their attacks yet here ISIS is creating committees and working to make themselves stronger. The hopeful part of all this is though is the more power ISIS gains the stupider they will get. Hopefully they will forget about those they are providing food and gas for and become greedy, scaring away the support they are gaining.

1.) These towers pose a threat to everyday citizens  because the people that are out there that are sending naked pictures can have these pictures leaked to the public when the tower receives them.
It can also lead to more people being robbed because if robbers receive information that you aren't home they know they have a chance to steal stuff.

2.) These towers would be located near military bases so that they could intercept  the information that is being shared in radios or by text or call, people that are not privilege to that information can now receive it by intercepting these calls and messeges.

3.)Yes I feel there could be a chance that the government may be behind these towers they would know very well how to cover them up.

1.) The kind of impact that this will have on Israel is very bad. This will make the people of Israel even more violent.

2.) They are targeting India because they see this as the epicenter of those that are standing by and not joining in the fight when the rest of the Muslim world is awakening to fight.

3.)The US should react to this by sending a declaration to these terrorists stating that if the threats do not desist then troops shall be sent to end the threats themselves. Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing another "Bin Laden" kind of story on the news celebrating the leader of this cults death.

1.) I don't feel as if the child is to blame for this accident as in the parents are more to blame. To take your child to a firing range with automatic weapons is begging for something bad to happen.

2.) Nine year old children should not even be touching guns let alone being able to shoot them at a range, expecially automatic weapons. There should be an age limit of at least 13 before a child should be able to handle any sort of weapon. This would cut down majorly on accidents with firearms involving children.

3.)Any kind of automatic weapon does not belong in the hands of a child or anyone that is not trained for them for that matter. I feel that if you wish to own an automatic weapon or even use one you should have to be trained and be certified to own the gun or even use one. This would make automatic weapon use safer.

This new nailpolish will help keep people from being assaulted when they are drinking. This new polish is said to detect the date rape drugs that can be put into drinks. My drawbacks with it though is say that you stir a drink with your index finger and it has drugs in it does the nail polish change back to its orignal color afterwards or does it stay changed. And if it does stay changed can you use the same finger again to test for drugs and will it change colors again? I feel like this nailpolish thing is a good idea but it does have drawbacks. Also if people that do the "date-rape" thing decide to start experimenting with other chemicals or pills what then? Will they continue to advance the nailpolish to fit the drugs present in society or will we all just be suseptable again.

America's Problems

There are many things that I believe are wrong with America today but I think there are three major problems. There is everyone out there that is suing one another when things could be settled out of court but everyone just want more money. Also there is the over reaction of the school system that is causing children to be removed from school for silly reasons. The worst problem in my opinion though is the race problem.

First off are the people suing each other over the smallest things. They start by taking a minor problem and blowing it completely out of proportion. Then when the party that wants money can't get what they want they bring lawyers into the mix. Keep in mind before now everything could be brushed off and there would be no problem with a ding in a car or a scratch on the paint just as long as it was minor. Now however, everyone wants to sue one another so that they can get money for whatever reason they may have. No one wants to make money the honest way, they wanted it handed to them in court.

Next is the over reacting school systems. Kicking kids out for making guns with their fingers or for even saying bless you. What ever happen to 'kids will be kids'? I mean they are just kids and there are times when a child should be removed but not for silly reasons. Children having proper manners and just playing are not reasons to remove a child from a school and halt their education until a new school can be found.

Finally is the race problem. Those people that are not the dominate race now believe they are entitled to everything and anything just because they are different. Like with the shooting in Ferguson. Would the news have gotten this far if a white cop has shot a white boy or if a black cop had shot a black boy? Some people keep finding it hard to believe that we were all created equal and  should be treated as such even if our skins are of different colors. Justice is justice no matter who it is served to and whom it is served by.

In conclusion there are some serious problems in America, and they could all be solved if everyone stopped over reacting. There would be less law suits, less expulsions from school, and even less people screaming for justice when someone is shot in self defense. Everyone just needs to calm down and take a step back before trying to start the next world war because a dog licked your leg.

1.)Large companies acting like it will kill them to pay taxes is ludicrous. You have the money you greedy investment pig, just pay the taxes. If you want lower taxes that means a raise on taxes for the common man that doesn't have the money. You have more money, that means you pay more taxes. The fact that you feel like you should have lower taxes just because other countries do does not mean that is reasonable. The US is in more debt than many other countries and the only way to get out is to pay taxes like you are suppose to. Go ahead and go to Swedan, one less greedy monster trying to bleed the common man dry here in the US.

2.)To pay for Americas debt.

3.)People with more money should pay more taxes, people with money should pay less taxes. This will even out the difference instead of making a poorer person pay the same as someone with more money, people with more money will pay the extra that the poorer person can not.

1.) The first mistake made by the government was saying that they WOULD release the name of the officer and then not releasing the name after the violent acts. This makes the county think that the government has something to hide.
The next mistake they made was letting visuals and protests take place at night to begin with. They should have made them host everything in the daytime from the beginning.

2.) In my mind excessive force would be like beating someone that is already laying face down and not fighting. I do beleive excessive force was used in the Brown shooting because the boy had no weapon and had his hands up, there was no reason to shoot someone who wasn't an immediate threat.

3.)I would start by having someone make a statement on behalf of the  police department and the county leaders of Ferguson. I would then continue on with the investigation of the shooting and follow through with the law as the law sees fit, except I would have the trial moved to a different state with indifferent jury members to make the decisions. Afterwards, visuals may continue to be held but any kind of protest wishing for a retrial or death to the police officer under trial will be disbanded and anyone part of said protests will be removed to their homes.

Lindsey,
Here are the goals we are going to strive to accomplish this year. First off is attentdance. I am going to be here much more, that shouldn't be a problem since we are now getting allergy shots and are no longer as sick. Also we are going to maintain at least a 3.8 GPA all year so that we have the chance to get into a good college. Finally, we will not, NOT, let ourself get behind on homeowrk. I did that last year and it  turned our horrible.
Next within the next five years we are going to get our BSN from Fairmont State University and start into a career. We are also going to get out minor in ASL (American Sign Language) find a job where it can be applied in the workplace.
Finally when it comes to be ten years from now, I hope to have a car and house, and be starting to prepare for a family. These goals are what would make me happy and feel successful in my life.
